Welcoming Week, September 14-23, is a chance for neighbors—both immigrants and U.S.-born residents— to get to know one another and celebrate what unites us as a community. Welcoming Week is sponsored by the New American Welcome Center at the University Y. The Chapel is one of the Y’s partners in this community-wide celebration. The Chapel joins a partnership of 60 local community groups that sponsor 38 events in celebration of the contribution of immigrants in Champaign County.
We’re not only celebrating during the week of September 14 – 23, but throughout the months of August, September, and October, promoting the spirit and work of building a vibrant, dynamic, and inclusive community we all want to live in.
